  • Amazing church and youth group! It is so nice to be at a place where you feel accepted and wanted. They support my dreams and help me be who I want to be.

I was a member of CC for around 7 years. As a young boy to becoming a young teen I was able to absorb some of the teaching going on in the main service. I attended the youth group and the Sunday school, but the lack of teaching in turn gave me a lack of interest, as the focus became more on "Community" and "Fellowship" rather than actual teaching, which may sound like a "No-duh" type thing, and I don't mean it as necessarily a bad thing, but I will get back to that in a moment. As I grew up, I wanted to grow up spiritually, which means I hungered for "meat" or "solid food" in the sermons. But as I continued to try to grow, the teachings were still infantile, most days I didn't even open my Bible on Sunday during the sermon because it wasn't so much as even quoted. I was not challenged to live a bold life for Christ, and I was also being taught the wrong view of myself because I was here and there learning who Christ was, but did not learn who I was as a human being, a SINFUL and DEPRAVED human being. You see, SIN itself was hardly a topic, was hardly studied, it's importance seem to have been forgotten or ignored over the years.
To conclude the sermons have become less than even "milk" to the baby Christian, a superficial attitude has consumed the congregation (I spent much time in there "Community Groups" to discover this), the Church is in dire need of expository preaching, this Church needs to get serious about it's faith, Sin needs to be known for what it is and this congregation needs to humble their hearts and start destroying their pride and idols:
    Proverbs 29:23(NASB)
23 A man’s pride will bring him low,
But a humble spirit will obtain honor

God is good and full of Mercy, He also loves and desires the heart of His people, and He WILL destroy anything that will stifle His work in their hearts. Pride and Idols for sure he will knock down
    Judges 10:7-8(NASB)
7 The anger of the Lord burned against Israel, and He sold them into the hands of the Philistines and into the hands of the sons of Ammon. 8 They afflicted and crushed the sons of Israel that year; for eighteen years they afflicted all the sons of Israel who were beyond the Jordan in Gilead in the land of the Amorites.
Read the rest of that book, the context is that Israel started worshiping false idols and God got ticked off, now it goes on that when they put their false Gods away God could "bear the misery of Israel no longer. He didn't stop loving them in His anger, what they were doing was dangerous and it needed to stop!
SIN IS DANGEROUS! PRIDE IS DANGEROUS! Yes being superficial about your faith in Christ is DEADLY! I love the Church of Christ, God loves the church more, and bad things will happen if you continue down this path!

    Proverbs 12:15 (NASB)

15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes,
But a wise man is he who listens to counsel.
